Flower Girl

May has been insanely busy for us!
This weekend Addy and I traveled to Guntersville for Sherry's wedding. Addison had the honor of being the flower girl in one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. Lake Guntersville is the perfect location for a wedding...a tad bit difficult for those of us who are not that great with directions, but definitely worth the trip once you arrive. Friday night we left pretty much right after I picked Addison up from daycare to make it there for rehearsal. We left right after it was over to head back home because we had a hair appointment at 9 the next morning. Saturday we went to visit Ms. Maria and get our hair done and then we went home to get ready for the wedding. The wedding was SO Sherry! Pink everywhere! Sherry looked very beautiful and it was great to see her and all of the other people there that I have not seen in years. Addison did really well all weekend and I was very proud of her! I can't wait to see all of the professional photos that were taken!

Camping...

Well, I did it....I made it, in the woods, in a tent, for an entire weekend! Jamey and I went camping near Boaz with a few of his friends from work. We were going to only spend Saturday night but then it ended up working out so that Ms. Judy and Mr. Jimmy could watch Addy Friday night as well, so we set off. We pulled up to the campsite around 9 that night and there were only a couple of guys there, everyone else was coming on Saturday. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the campsite was awesome! There were so many tents set up, a perfect place for hanging out around the fire and plenty of room for a lot of people! We pulled out our conservative hats this weekend did a little target shooting during the day on Saturday. lol. I was super nervous about shooting a gun because I am just not a gun person...at all.. but after I finally did it the 1st time, it was so exhilarating. I shot, screamed, laughed and shook all at once it seemed!! I told Jamey that every time I pulled the trigger it was like I was sneezing because I couldn't help but close my eyes! We had an awesome time Saturday night and I was able to meet a lot of the other wives/girl friends and that was nice. Even though we did have a great time, Jamey and I both were really ready to get back home and pick up our sweet little girl. Addison hasn't been away from me for 2 nights in a row in a really long time, but it was much needed mommy and daddy time! We are already thinking about going back and trying to find some where that we can go as a family.

Mommy's day!!!

I like to call it mommy's day instead of mother's day. I've thought a lot lately about this day and something came to my mind that I would like to share...the old Cliche "any man can be a father but it takes a special man to be a daddy" I feel that should ring true more for mothers. Most women are given the wonderful ability to birth a child...it's what you do after that, that makes you a "MOMMY". Having Addison was just the foundation of all of the wonderful blessings to come in my life. I absolutely love how my life has changed since she was born. Having a little girl brings back so many great memories and even gives you the opportunity to relive those "little girl moments" that we all love so much such as: Playing babies, dress up, playing barbies, bubbles... I could go on forever... I'm reminded more and more every day of what a special little girl that we have in our lives. She is so smart and so beautiful.. I couldn't be any happier to be called Mommy every day by this sweet sweet girl. I love you Addison Reese Hopkins!!
